Gazetted in 1950, Aberdare National Park is famous for its lush forested landscapes and waterfalls. It played a historical role as a hideout for Mau Mau fighters during Kenya’s independence struggle.

Visitors can enjoy game drives, birdwatching, trout fishing in the rivers, and scenic hikes. The best time to visit is from December to March and June to October when the weather is drier.
